| Formed in the late 1980's by flautist, composer and arranger Rowland Sutherland (during his period with Jazz Warriors, founded by the prominent saxophonist Courtney Pine) Mistura is a culmination of Rowland's experiences in Brazilian, Latin and African jazz, funk and dance music. The added inspirations of a thriving jazz dance club scene in London and across the UK led to Rowland's strong desire to fuse all these sounds into a live band which became known as Mistura.
